Default Position

Could anyone tell me as to which position a person would be assigned to if he/she has his or her position delimited to a particular date and not been assigned to any new position by the user....?

For example,

I delimit a person's position(A008) to 5th Feb in pp01 and have not assigned him to any other position from 6th Feb.

Will there be a new record created in PA20 having start date of 6th Feb?...if yes,will he be assigned to the default position?...where can i check for these settings?...
