Error: Release code for Release group is inconsistent

Hi all,

I wanted to create a new release strategy. I deleted the existing release groups and checked the release strategies, where it showed the existing release strategies. So, i created all the release groups(02,04,PI,Z1 &ZG) at a time by clicking new entries in a single go and saved it. No when i go back to release codes i dont see any corresponding release codes for the above mentioned release groups.

I checked the release strategies and it shows an error:

"Release code for Release group is inconsistent".

The error message doesn't give any name or number of the existing release group. Had i known the release group, i can recreate the release group and can delete the release strategies, release code and finally the release group. Please let me know what to do.

Thanks

Pavan

    Hi,

Removing release strategy should be done very carefully. Please check that the release strategy deleted in customizing (OMGQ) is

    also removed in CL24(N).

Also, deletion has always to be carried out in following sequence:

    1. Delete the release strategies

    2. Delete the release indicators

    3. Delete the release codes

    4. Delete the release group

    5. Delete the class (Transaction CL02), if a new one was created for the new release strategy.

Also, you may refer to NOTE 365604 - Question 5 which describes in detail about the same process. .

    Hope it helps.

    Regards,

    Agreta

      Hi,

Try to find the deleted release group from the config changes log (open the configuration parth then go to Utilities-Changes log) or if deleted release group even been used in transaction, then check in transaction table (like: EKKO).

      Regards,

    hi

you would have deleted the release code and then release group.

you directly deleted the release group that is why the system is giving the error.
