upgrade BW 3.5 system to BW 7.0 EHP2

Hi Experts,

We are planning for BI 7.0 EHP2 upgrade from BW 3.5

SAP_ABA u2013 6.40 - 24

SAP_BASIS u2013 6.40 - 24

PI_BASIS - 2006-1-640 - 8

SAP_BW u2013 3.50 - 24

To Target version of NW BI 7.0 EHP2,

I need some advise,

1.Do we need to install EHP2 for Netweaver 7.0? or

2.use SAPup upgrade program to start Upgrade BW 3.5 to EhP2 NW 7.0

Thanks

Raja

    Hi Raja,

You need to use SAPup tool to perform the upgrade from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 EHP2.

You may need to have solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 installed which atleast SP23 installed. Maintenance Optimizer should be configured in solution Manager to generate .xml file required for upgrade.

For more details you may refer Upgrade guide for NW and Addtional upgrade info SAP notes.

    Regards,

    Hi Deepak,

Do we need to install an SAP enhancement package in existing system as a first step or not required for this Upgrade BW 3.5 to EhP2 NW 7.0?

Sorry I am somewhat confused in the name of EHP2 NW7.0 means we need to Install SAP enhancement package via EhPi tool and start upgrade to BI 7.0 with EhP2 NW 7.0 from BW 3.5.

    Thanks

    Raja

      Raja,

Looks like you can use SUM from NW 04 to NW 7.0 EHP2 upgrade, if you have FINBASIS and SEM-BW on BW 3.5

Refer to SCENARIO 1 - Note 1619800 - Netweaver Systems Containing SAP ERP Software Components

Note 1299009 - Central Note: Upgrade Systems on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP 2

As Juan Suggested, Refer to Upgrade document also.

      Regards,

      Arjun
