Doubt on Field only exit in RSA6 ?

Hi,

I have added few fields from the comm structure to the extract structure for 2lis_02_scl datasource (from right to left). So those fields should be checked or unchecked in field only exit in RSA6. Can you please suggest. Currently those are checked, should I uncheck those.

Thanks

Hi,

Please uncheck the "Field Only" option, save the datasource and continue with the replication. Nothing else is required.

Hi Arminder Singh,

Thanks for the reply. I have 2 doubts on the same, can you please provide your thoughts.

1) How to determine to add any compatible field to the extract structure ( that is moving from comms truc from right to left) whether its delta capable or not and if its working or not. Becasue even after adding the fields to extract struc and activating the ds and then remove unhide etc., the values are not populated in that field when i check in rsa3, where as the values are existing in the standard table,

for ex, it says mcremng and i have moved from left to rite...remove hide and remove field avlble in exit and still the values are not coming in the newly moved field. the ds is active and everything is fine.

Am i doing something wrong ? Can anyone tell me if there is anyway to check if any field moved from comm to extrac struc may not work even after doing the maintain options, activate ds ,generate, unhide etc. How to check if a particlue standard field which was delivered by sap may not work even after adding it to the extract struc and how to analyze that ?

Hope I am clear what I am saying here.

Thanks for your time,

Hi

if you check the field only option you need to write customer exit code to populate the data in to the fields......otherwise ignore the customer exit code to populate data.this is depending on the requirement.

Hi Daniel,

If the field only is checked for any object, then you can not give selections for that object while loading data to BI system.

This field can not be visible in "data selections" tab of IP.

If you have requirement to give the selections on this field, then you can change it.

ya but that is for the selection check box rite. But my doubt is reg the Field only known in customer exit check box. So for the standard fields do we need to uncheck this option.

Thanks

Venkatesh,

I see this answer in your sent link which I think is wrong because the selection criteria on the infopackage is determined by the selection check box in the first column in RSA6 and the last column which I am talking about is to make the field populated through the cmod tcode .Is that a right statement ? But here in the below lines, he is saying it differently. So my doubt is for the customization done for the standard extraction, that is fields added through standard customization, ...those fields should be checked or unchecked in RSA6 for " Field only known in customer exit". Remember these are not zfields.

This tick mark is compulsary , if you are making selection in info package on these newly added fields. Other wise, the append are not yet filled when you check the selection criteria before saving to the delta queue. If the selection criteria for this type of field do not include its initial value, data records may be filtered out by mistake

Hope i am clear this time.
