SAP BCM - New install. problems with PSTN number range not showing in SC

Hi Proffesionals,

I am a newby to SAP BCM and I am setting up my first development BCM server for testing and proof of concept working.

I am following the installation example to set up a slim system with minimal configuration.

Having built the local HAC node with all the virtual units. I am at the point where I have just set-up my first System Configurator

remote session to be abel to go further with the install and put in all the telephony settings.

I am stuck at the part where i put in the Number range in OPEN SYSTEM MANAGEMENT.

The screen shows I have a PSTN range already defined in IA in the database of 1300 - 1399

In reality I have changed this number range in the database to be my own range 17001-17053, saved this on the local HAC and HOST and re-synced. So I do not see why the SC screen says I have a number range of 1300-1299 which is the default one when the database was first built.

Any ideas how I can get the correct number range to display in SC as I cannot build anyfurther until the correct range is built ?

Hello, Kevin.

You should define number ranges in System Configurator (SC) under the path System Management -> Number Range. It is not mandatory to give PSTN number ranges in Infrastructure Administrator (IA) when installing databases.

Also there is an exception how to make changes to any database variables. It is described in Operation Guide. Refere section 6.3 "Deploying Configuration Changes" in Operation Guide for this.

Exception: To make changes to any database variables, for example changing number range in PSTN Range, make changes on the virtual unit level, right-click the virtual unit and choose Synchronize Instances, then right-click the database node and choose Upgrade All Software and then Apply Changes on Local System.

Hope this will help.
