Validation not triggering

Hi,

I've configured a validation however it is not triggering the document. I'm not sure if I'm committing an error in defining the same.

My requirement for creating a Validation is - When the user enters a payment using F-53 (or FB01), and document type KZ - if the user forgets to make an entry in document header text there needs to be an error message "Please enter cheque number in Document header text" to be displayed.

I've defined the following pre-requisite:

( BKPF-BUKRS = 'abcd' ) AND ( BKPF-TCODE = 'FB01' OR

BKPF-TCODE = 'F-44' ) AND ( BKPF-BLART = 'KZ' )

And the message as follows:

Message type E

Message number 008 (I selected the next available number in the list)

Messge Text "Please enter the payment reference number"

Please suggest.

Regards,

Soujanya.

    Hi

    Validation is having three parts

    Pre requisite

    Check

    Message

I think you might have forgotten to keep check

So better to keep the logic on Document header text equals to empty throw error

And you are telling two messages one is one payment ref and one more check number

Be specific to messages since you can get either

And also verify in OB28, your company code is active or not

What you have specified in "CHECK"

You can also put that as mandatory for Doc type KZ in OBA7 - KZ Double click and check the "Document header text"

    Thanks

      Hi,

I've not specified anything in check.

As far as setting the document header text - as required in OBA7 is: Client requires a message to be displayed asking the user to enter the cheque number/DD number to be entered in document header text field, instead of just a system displayed error message of a certain field being mandatory.
