How to filter a block using a detail of a dimension in Webi 4.0 SP2

Hi.

I need to filter a blockk based on the detail of a dimension in Webi 4.0 SP2 patch 11. We are able to do this easily in BO 3.1 as this is just a block filter and you drag the detail the the filter pane.

However, in BO 4.0 I can filter on the block but I can only filter by the merged dimensions only (ie right click on block , Edit or Add Filter). I do not see any of my queries and hence no details of the dimension.

Has the feature of filtering by Detail been removed in BO 4.0 ?

Many Thanks

hi,

I am able to use detail as block level filter using eFashion Universe.

Please try the below steps.

Web Intelligence Rich client > New report > eFashion Univ >

Select below Objects and run the query.

Month (Dimension)

Month Name (Detail)

Sales Revenue (Measure)

Table with these 3 objects form automatically in Report Area.

Right click the Table and then Filter > "Add Filter" > Add Filter (on top right) > Available Objects > Month Name > Ok.

Specify your in list values and filter is applied on the block.

Hi Vansee

Thanks for your prompt response.

Just to add, I have an excel file as a datasource and there I have two cols. The first col is the dimension and the second col is the detail of the dimension. The first col is merged with another Dimension from a universe. So lets keep it simple, we have two queries :1. from the excel with two cols as previosly described and 2. a query from a UNX universe where the one of the dimension is merged with the query created from excel datasource.

So when I look at the filter for the report block all I can see are the merged dimensions and the measures. I cannot see the detail and other dimensions (that are not merged).

I know this works in version XI 3.1 SP2 as I am re-creating a report that exist in XI 3.1.

Thanks
