Block Planning - Planned Orders not respecting CDP Characteristics

Hello Experts,

We use 2 characteristics for Block Plng & CDP purposes. When Sales Ord's are created (we use CTP process), system matches the 2 char's from the Sales Ord's/Planned Orders to the char values of the Blocks & pegging occurs.

On one of the resources, while testing, we found that we were able to drag any Planned Order from a given block (of certain char values) into any other block (of different char values), which is not how it is supposed to work. It should stop me from doing that when the char values do not match.

Is there a setting that I would be missing? Don't remember any specific setting I did for other resources, where it works OK.

Hello,

Please check the following:

-Check the resource if blocks are maintained correctly with the reference cycle start and end dates

-Also resource should be time continuous bucket.

- check the settings in the Strategy Profile which is use when you planned orders are created or rescheduled.

Profile Setting:

Take Block Planning Into Account

-You also need to check your PPM

-The PPM activity shall have the Block Planning indicator and class.
