Forecast consumption by Distribution demand planned (Preqrel)

Hi Experts,

I have a requirement where in forecast should get consumed by Distribution demand planned (Preqrel) .

I have maintained the following settings.

1).Added category BH to category group Z01 and assigned the category group to requirement strategy 20 in APO.

2).Assigned this strategy 20 to product masters in APO with backward/forward consumption.

But when i run heuristics, the forecast at source location doesnot consumed by Distribution demand planned (Preqrel) .

Can you please help if i have missed any setting OR if there is any other solution to meet this requirement?

Thanks in advance

    Hi Binil,

Heuristics doesn't lead to consumption of a demand element. It only plans for the net requirements.

Consumption happens only for Sales Order, where Sales Order will consume the forecast during the CIF itself.

If you want that AFTER your Heuristics run, the forecast should get reduced by the amount of the distribution demand planned, then you could write a macro that could do this kind of calculation. Use this macro in a DP activity which would be used in a DP background job that could run after your Heuristics.

Please note that this won't be actually consumption. Your total demand will include the distribution demands (planned/confirmed, etc) and would also include the forecast.

If you want to delete the forecast based on the Distribution Demand planned BEFORE you run the Heuristics, then you could run the above macro in a background job before you run the Heuristics. Please note that this would be actual deletion of the forecast, and then this "deleted" forecast would no longer be a part of the total demand.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks - Pawan.
