Hi,

do you know how can I save only selected data from the buffer in a planning application?

i.e. to save data only for one plan version?

Hi Dorota,

You can user variables and filters combinations and set them to specific values and this will ensure that only values of those versions would be written to the cube.

Thanks, but how to model it if I need to display two plan versions in one query, but to save changes only in selected one?

Hi Dorota,

'save' writes everything contained in the delta buffer to the InfoCube.

So if you change key figure values for version 1, use another version 2, change key figure values again you have delta records for both versions in the delta buffer. 'Save' persists all delta records in the buffer. You cannot avoids this, except you return to the last saved state. In BEx Analyzer and WAD you can use the 'Reset' commant to do this. This command empties the delta buffer without save and reads the data from the Infocube again.

Hi Dorota,

In the button that you have created for 'Save' functionality you can execute a planning sequence containing the planning function of type 'Delete' with appropriate filter conditions (i.e correct date and time filter to filter the records entered at that point of time by the user). Using this Delete function you can delete the records for planning version which you do not want to save to the planning cube.

The most important thing to be considered here is the filter that you are providing in the planning sequence because using this filter you should exactly filter the currently entered records of the planning version that you do not want to save.

Kindly get back to me if your issue doesn't get resolved by the above scenario.
