Crystal Report Viewer (SmartViewerActiveX/ActiveXViewer) barcode problem

Former Member

I am using the crystal reports viewer to show my reports in my asp website.

In the reports, I have a barcode using the font source IDAutomationHC39M.ttf.

This code must be a certain size that I indicated in my report design.

The problem is that the viewer appears in the browser with the barcode expanded to full size, and not with the size that I indicated in report design.

If I print from the program Crystal Reports, it appears according to the size indicated.

It seems that this is a problem of the Viewer in the browser.

Someone can help me? this matter is very urgent.

Thank you.

Thread moved to the .NET - SAP Crystal Reports forum.

A few details missing:

1) Version of CR?

2) CR updates applied?

3) Version of .NET?

4) OS?

5) What browser and version?

6) is the issue present on dev / deployed computer / both?

Oh, BTW.; if this is urgent, consider creating a phone case here:

1) Version of CR? XI - 11.0.0.2495 CR Developer, Product Type:full

2) CR updates applied?

3) Version of .NET? I'm using Classic ASP

4) OS? XP Pro

5) What browser and version? IE 8

6) is the issue present on dev / deployed computer / both? in both

Seems that the viewer can not determine the size of the box where I have the bar code, when I point out in the report some size.

I'm using a font to make the code bar.

Thanks in advance.

Ok. So I moved your thread to the Legacy SDKs - SAP Crystal Reports forum.

There are a number of issues to be aware of:

1) CR 11.x is out of support. E.g.; if this is an issue / bug, it will not be fixed

2) I'd recommend upgrading to CR XI R2A (11.5). See [this|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/25302] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]; blog on how to

3) having recommended upgrade to CR XI R2A, note that even this product is no longer supported. And CR XI R2A was the last version of CR to ship the activeX viewer (Report Designer Component SDK).

4) OS = XP pro. Since this is a web app, I assume the app it's self is on a Server OS (Win 2003 or Win 2008?). See [this|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/18420] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]; blog for possible tips

My recommendation; move to the .NET platform and use the CR SDK for .NET.

Thanks for your answer.

The problem is in fact with the web viewer, I'm using SmartViewerActiveX, and if I user other font like arial, and set the field with a certan size, the viewer/print is not able to do that job and show all the characters.

I'm downloading the upgrate to CR XI R2 and will see if the problem is solve.

I'm using several asp files to open the crystal viewer in the browser, files like AlwaysRequiredSteps.asp, MoreRequiredSteps.asp, RDCrptserver11.asp, SmartViewerActiveX.asp and ActiveXViewer.cab, do you know if I need to do some kind of upgrate to theses files?

Thanks again.

Remember that with web apps, you have permissions to worry about (amongst other things). If the worker process does not have permissions to the font, CR will substitute another font... but let's cross that bridge when we get to it.
