Configuring BPM with the UWL

Hello Experts,

I need to set up an Universal Work List on EP server to list all the Tasks and Process including BPM based ones...

Part of Landscape is; we have an SRM Portal Working on SRM ECC, a BPM server (Which is my side basicly) and an EP Portal Server.

Basic scenario is; Customer will logon to EP server(single sign-on with other systems), will fill up the shopping cart(SRM) and depending on the total price diffirent approval processes (BPM) and after approval the process will continue..

Approvers also will use EP server to complete theirs tasks which were triggered from BPM.

So, how am i going to configure EP UWL to show tasks from BPM, i have been through this link; http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce72/helpdata/en/0e/57827af0e34edfacd4c82edeb6acca/content.htm

But my question is; on the consumer part (which is EP) how am i going to connect to BPM (as a Portal server) from EP? It only decribes the connection as a R3 system but BPM is only a java portal system. I couldn't manage to connect from EP to BPM, is there any way to connect from portal system to portal system or is there any other way achieve this ?

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Have you tried out federation or FPN for connecting the two portals. The BPM portal can act as producer and EP can act as consumer. You can then export the BPM portal UWL into EP portal and use it inside EP Portal.

I have implemented federated network between to servers (BPM and EP).

Can you guide me through UWL Configuration ? I have tried this link;

but it seemed Business workflow on ECC systems included here, but i just need to export bpm workflows to ep uwl at the moment.

Any suggestions ?

Hi Yasin,

If you have configured FPN then you need not do any UWL configuration step. Just look inside the PCD of EP portal for the remote content (BPM Portal Content). You should be able to see the complete PCD structure of BPM Portal from EP. Open the UWL from producer portal and it should contain all the BPM tasks.

Dear soujanya,

I can navigate and see the bpm tasks as you suggested, however i can not see them in the UWL when i logon with the task owner user's credentials who the task assigned to, uwl is empty for this task's owner, what do you think i am missing here ?

I had a look at this procedure but could not complete it as in the 'Set Up the Consumer System' step 2 says;

2.From the context menu, choose New System (from template) . Under Available Templates, select the SAP system with load balancing radio button. Enter the required base properties of the system such as ID, name, etc.

But BPM server is not a SAP System so how am i going to complete this step?
