Hi All,
I loged into syndicator and tried to create a new map. below are the inputs i have selected
File-->New
Type-->xml schema
xml schema --> xyz
but the root becomes grayed out when i select the xml schema.
the same xml schems is uploaded in the XML schemas table in console and i am able to load the xml file in import manager.
Why is the root property getting disabled.?
The same thing is happening when i select type as XML schema file and select the .xsd file.
Regards,
Sharma

Hi Sharma,
How did you generate your schema?
Is that predefined in standard business content? If this is the case you should face such issues.
If it is generated using some xml editors, please make sure you do it as per the sap note 1497455.
For any customized XSD for MDM 7.1 it has to be generated as per the note.
Or follow the link below, which shows the detailed step by step info to generate the same.

Sravan

Hello Sravan,
Thanks for the reply.
I am using schema generated by some xml editor and not a standard one. but when i import usind import manager the root is auto selected.
i tried finding the sap note 1497455 but was not able to can you send the link.
and is their any other reason why the root is getting disables in syndicator even though it works in Import manager?
Regards
Sharma.
Hi Sharma,
Below is the link for the sap note
https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap%28bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==%29/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1497455
U might require SAP Service market place logon credentials.
If you cannot open it, please follow the steps in the link posted in my previous post. (repeated below)
Coming to the point that schema works with import manager and does not work with syndicator:
Ideally it is assumed that if schema works, it should work for both and if it doesnot, it should not work with both.
But as we generate xml schemas from external sources, these kind of inconsistencies may happen.
You follow the sap standard way of generating schema which is specifically made for MDM 7.1 purpose, I am sure you will not face the issue.
Try and let me know.
Regards,
Sravan
