SAP Basis or SAP BO?

Former Member

I have 4 yrs of total IT experience. First 20 months, I worked under SAP BASIS R/3 v4.6c. Later years I worked in non-SAP field.

I have experience in Unix, Oracle, SQL. I know little bit of Web Intelligence reporting (10 months of experience).

I now want to move back to SAP Career.

Thinking of pursuing either SAP Basis NetWeaver certification or SAP BO certification. Wondering which will help me in better career.

Please guide me.

Thanks.

Hi,

Since you have already worked with SAP BASIS, it would be easy for you to get into the same stream.

Needless to tell you the opportunities available for SAP BASIS consultants. If you are comfortable with

Basis, go ahead and build your career in SAP BASIS.

Regards

Leon

hi

why you are thinking about SAP BO, G o for sap basis. first work for basis, then still you have interest on sap BO then think later.

To work on BO, Initially you have the little bit knowledge on SAP BI, then this should be good. so my advise you to take sap basis.

Thank you

I have a different view on this.

You have worked in BASIS as well done some work around WEBI. You should be able to relate to your experience and see which module/track is a better fit for yourself. In my view, there are more opportunities available on the BO front in the current market. In agreement with one of the earlier posts, you would have to acquire some BW knowledge in order for a stable career in the BI/BO segment.

Good luck with your decision!
