Dynamic modification is not working

Dear Friends,

I have created a dynamic modification rule as below:

1) at lot creation

2)

stage. inspsevr. skip. ISt. short text. stage ch. no of insp. max skip dur. new stage. no. rej. new stage

10 4 initial Insp1 x 1 20 1 10

20 skip no insp x 2 10 days 20 1 10

3) What do I expect?

After 1 inspection & acceptace 2 lots should be skipped, then again inspection.

But this not happening. every time I have to do results recording, UD and Stock posting.

4) Material master settings

100% inspection, inspection with task list, automatic assignments, check char,

5) lot is created after each GR for batch & material combination

6) QP01

I have assigned the dynamic modification rule at header level & at lot level.

Hi,

Please try these settings:

First row:

Stage=10, Insp severity=4, Skip=blank, 1st=tick this, short text=start, Stage change: Tick this, No. of Inspns=1, Max=Blank, New stage=20, Rej=1, New Stage=10

Second row:

Stage=20, Insp severity=4, Skip=tick this, 1st=blank, short text=skip, Stage change: Tick this, No. of Inspns=2, Max=0, New stage=10, Rej=1, New Stage=10

Your Material Master settings & Inspn Plan settings: seem to be OK.

Thanks for the replies.

What I did is as below.

I selected the skip check box in the material master.

I did the small change in dynamic odification rule as suggetsed by you.

Now I have two issues::::::::::::::::::::

1)

Now I get 2 lots with skip status & results recording grayed out. stock posted to unrestricted stock.

Is it correct behaviour?

Lot status shows SPRQ (stock posting required) despite the stock posted to UR stock.

What is this behaviour?

In QA16 skip lots do appear despite results recording not done & I am able to do collective UD in background.

I want AUTO UD (QA17) to happen instead of QA16.

But it is not happening till the time I do not do force closure of the characteristics.

Your Q1: correct. It is the expected behaviour

Lot status shows SPRQ despite stock posted: it is not clear with the information given till now.

For Auto UD to happen: All characteristics must be closed. With skip lots it may not be possible in Std. SAP.

Pl. see, if there is any User Exit for this. Regards, KrishnaM

In the auto UD program is a check box labelled "skip lots". Make sure this is checked in the variant you are using for the auto UD. Then check the "wait time for skip lots" that is in the plant config settings. This is set to 24 in standard SAP. That means a skip lot has to be at least 24 hrs before it can be auto UD. This allows you to use the lot if you decide you need to go back and inspect the material. I.e. If you test one and skip two, you might be require to go back and test the lots 2 & 3 if the 4 lot fails. This allows you time to do so. But you can adjus this time down to say something like 4 hrs instead.

If you don't want skip lots to appear on various worklists, create selection profiles for your worklists.

The stock is posted to unrestricted stock for the lots generated having SKIP status .

But the status of the lot still shows as SPRQ which means "stock posting required".

Why it shows SPRQ while it is already posted to UR stock. Hope it is clear now.

2)

My auto UD config & variant is working fine.

Why I say this:

As soon as I do force closure of the chracteristics for the lots with SKIP status the auto UD works (ud code is entered automatically & lot saved). But this does not work till the time I dont do force closure of the charateristic.

My question is why it is required to do force closure for SKIP lots while the chrateristics are grayed out & irrelevant.

--->Its std one but ,Its could be for a reason like if you want to reject/return delivery / block or scrap the lot ,you will need a Inspection lot for the same.If status would have become SPCO then you can not post this lot in any pocket once stock posting done unless you reverse the lot.

Also for your additional info if you do reject/return delivery / block or scrap the lot ,its happens from unresticted in this case & not for QI.

So Sap has given provision to work on lot where as stock is in urestricted.So what lefts only is Usage Decision.

The system can only make an automatic usage decision if the following conditions have been met:

No characteristic has been rejected in the inspection lot

All required characteristics have been confirmed and closed

No defect records exist for the inspection lot

An automatic usage decision has been planned for the material

As I understand for if all char in lot have "skip" status -4 then ,Auto UD can happen for such lot.

Have you checked your wait times as i suggested?????

The reason the UD processes the lots when you force close them is that the lot is no longer a SKIP lot once you process any inspection characteristic. As soon as you force close one MIC in the lot, the status becoomes INSP.

The UD will work on skip lots but not until the age of the inspection lot meets the wait time requirement in the plant QM config settings.

Thanks for your support & sorry for the delayed reply.

I have progressed in DMR & it is working.

I have configured as below.

1) Defined DMR with stages (2 skips after one OK condition)

2) Activated DMR at usage decision.

3) Assigned the DMR at inspection plan header level at material and task list level.

4) SKIP check box ticked in material master

Results are as below:

1) First lot created with status results recording required.

2) The next inspection stage in the quality level is not updated till the time I dont complete UD for the previous lot.

3) After I do UD the next stage is updated depending upon accepatance or rejection of characteristics.

4) If I dont do UD for the previous lots then inspection stage does not change for the next lots. Ex: If the next stage is a SKIP then "n" number of lots are skipped till the time I dont coplete the UD for one of previous lots.

5) But I cant activate DMR at lot creation level because I cant skip lots w/o confirming the results recording.

These are my observations. Request to comment.

Correct ... you understood the basic difference in Lot & UD level.

Skip means lot will be created but It will be of status SKIP , for which you can do stock posting automatically.

So check carefully what is the status of lots created in stage 20.
