Cannot process message; maximum size exceeded

I receive message "Cannot process message; maximum size exceeded" on some outgoing mail in SOST. I found notes, 837300 and 1171138, and set parameters, MAXLEN_BODYPART_SMTP and MAXLEN_MIME_MESSAGE_SMTP in sxparams table and that did not work. Is the only solution to fix this problem to adjust parameter mpi/total_size_MB?

Hi,

Please be informed that there is another parameter, which should also

be taken into account: mpi/total_size_MB

Please review all the notes below:

690020 SAPconnect send process hangs with large mails

As per note 690020:

If you want to allow larger emails to be sent, increase the

mpi/total_size_MB parameter in the SAP profile to a value that is

greater than a quadruple of the largest mail to be sent. (For the size

of the mail, as a rule of thumb you can use approximately 150% of the

size of the user data contained in the mail).

Hi ,

I totally agree with Naveen. Please try the solution and let us know the result.

You also can try a workaround by changing the output format for SAP Documents. This will decrease the email size.

It can be maintained in SCOT > SMTP > Internet Set > output format for SAP Documents.

This setting is global and will effect everyone. So business should agree before you do the changes.

I have read this note and sdjusted the parameter, mpi/total_size_MB.. The issue is resolved.
