Aggregates in InfoCube

Hi All,

we need to create Aggregates based on a cube. We have the Cube and Query details.

Could you please provide us the inputs/methods(step by step) to analyze, which would be the best aggregates for the cube

And Please let us know if any inputs should be asked from the Client

Thanks in Advance

    Hi,

The below link will be helpful,

    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20caa882-d8f1-2e10-598c-96d22ddea9eb?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true

If you have query name, better option will be checking the aggregate proposals using Query Monitor ( RSRT )

Go to RSRT and execute the query in Execte + Debug mode.

There you can select Display aggregates found option. Also uncheck the Use cache option.

Executing the report, you will get proposals for creating aggregates.

Use the above doc to create cube aggregates based on the RSRT proposals. You can get proposals from cube also. It is mentioend in the above link.

You can also ask user inputs like frequently used free characteristics or constant selections in report.

For example if user is displaying only a particular company code data, then you can use constant selection for company code in aggregates.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks,

    Vinod

    Hi,

    Thanks for your inputs.

However, we have more than 15 queries associated with the Cube. Could you please let me know, whether we need to find the common objects from all queries and create the aggregate based on this or need to create separate aggregate for each query

TO create an aggregate to serve multiple queries you can ask the system to propose based on statistic of last 30 days. This should give you better result. then based on the usage you can decide to drop or retain.
