MS Internet Explorer 6.0.2900 SP2 on Windows XP

Hello together,

I have problems with MS Internet Explorer 6.0.2900 SP2 on Windows XP to show the navigation bar of EP on the left side. Is that a known problem with the release of IE?

I tried also to add the address to the trustable sides - without result.

With Mozilla Firefox 1.0.3 I have also problems with the navigation on the left. The menue will be displayed, but the hyperlinks doesn't work.

Thanks for your answer.

Thomas

Hi:

If you have Xp with SP2, please follow the next steps:

Go to IE menu and select Tools-Internet Options, select the TAB Privacy, go to Button Sites, and type your domain, for example if your acces to the portal is portal.enterprise.com , type enterprise.com and select the button ALLOW.......

Of course the EP host needs to be added to the trusted sites in EP. I believe there are some security patches delivered between 6.0.28xx and 6.0.29xx that cause problems. These are typically related to javascript settings/restrictions.

As for the Firefox problem - which menue causes problems? What is the link - a full URL or a javascript? I don't have same problem though there are still some quirks with right-click actions in the administration areas.

Hi Nick,

thank you for you answer. I think also, that the reason of the problems with MS IE is some security patch. But the problem is under Windows XP to change the IE to an older version.

The problems with firefox are on every menue on the left side. I.e.: I installed the developer package and want to download the extensions for eclipse. The menue is still shown but I havn't any response when I click on any link, i.e. "download".

Only with the english version of MS IE (XP SP1), which is installed on the server self I got a correct navigation.

Hi,

as I wrote in my first message: I'm using Windows XP with SP2. I think in most cases the customer will use MS Windows and not Linux. Perhaps it is possible to change the user to an other browser than Microsoft IE but not to an other OS. But I'll have a look for the release of firefox which you use.

Do you have any idea how I can go back to an older version of Microsoft IE or where I can deactivate the security patches of my version of Microsoft IE?

Hi together,

I've solved the problem wiht Microsoft IE: the reason was the full qualified name. I used the IP-Adress and this does'nt work.

But the problem with Mozilla is still unsolved.
