Print is not coming as per Print preview in Bi-lingual smartform

Hi all,

In the smartform, I have both Hindi and English text. The Hindi text is using the devanagiri font. The print preview is coming fine and the pdf conversion is also working fine. but when giving it to print from the print preview dialog, it is translating the devanagiri font to Arial or something and printing in English. When giving the print from the Pdf of the same, it'll come correctly and hindi remains hindi. Is it the problem with the printer or the printer settings in the SAP? Any Solution for the same?

Hi all,

Thanks all for their valuable inputs, the same was solved using another font family. This font family was supported by the Adobe and it was converted perfectly into the PDF.

Hi,

Try printing via windows and unicode windows device type SWINCF(see SAP note #812821).

I have installed the SWINCF device type also, but that also is converting the devanagiri script to English and printing.

Only the PDF print is coming properly.

Hi friend,

There are many questions posted in Forum saying printout is coming correct in PDF but not in print.

The main reason for that is PDF accepts all kind of input its an universally accepted format Portable Device Format.

So see whether you system supports both the languages. Check with your basis team about it. Also try using other languages which your system supports so that you will get to know where your problem exists.

I think this will solve your issue please revert back to me if you have any issues i will help you.

Hi Hari,

I test printed a page having devanagiri font in word document and its coming in hindi only. No conversion is happening in that case. Only when printing from the SAP directly this issue is arising. On the printer side, its capable of printing the devanagiri fonts, therefore i am thinking its not a printer issue.

Hi,

When your application cal;ls the smartform function module, check the value in parameter CONTROL_PARAMETERS-LANGU. Perhpas the application is calling the wrong language version of the smartform by passing an incorrect language parameter here.

Hi Aidan,

I am not passing any value nor does it contain any value during the runtime in CONTROL_PARAMETERS-LANGU. Also if that was the case the print preview would'nt have come in Hindi(Devanagiri Font), which is coming as of now.

Cheers,

Ganesh Salunke.
