Getting a scatterplot chart instead of a line chart

Hi, I am wondering where might be wrong as I got a scatterplot chart instead of a line chart for a variable (value axis) plotted against dates (month YYYYMM along the horizontal axis)?

Could it be that horizontal axis (ie, months) is not interpreted as a time scale or as individual discrete values? I'm using SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 6 Version: 14.1.6.1702
