Balance Audit trial report -Archiving

Hello ,

I have a doubt relating to balance audit trial . What is the significance of optical archiving in the balance aduit trial report i.e S_ALR_87100205

We have done the archiving for the year 2009. But i am able to view those datas in the Balance audit trial reports. so kindly clarify me why it is said that we have to execute this report before archivng.
