BPS transporting Planning Sequences

I am trying to find out if there is a secret to transporting planning functions/sequences.

I am transporting at the level and and select the Area, and the Level. Everything including the level & layouts are transported, but the planning function and sequence is not transporting.

When I go into the Planning Profile and click on the Sequences icon, all I see if XXX. I don't see any of the sequences I created.

Thanks, Keith Johnson

Keith,

Are you using a planning profile? If so, you might want to check to see if the planning functions and planning sequenses you are missing is on that planning profile in Development and if so collect and re-transport the planning profile and reset/reassign the planning profile in the new system after. If those functions and sequences are not on the planning profile in development, you need to add them onto the planning profile and retransport the planning profile.

Hello Keith

two possible reasons:

- The planning profile is not transported completely. Set the target system to "General Overview" and see if the functions/sequences are there.

- A bug in the transport tool. Did you use BPS0 or program UPC_TRANSPORT_BPS_ALL? Check notes for example 681094, 793004 ("scheduling function" is a bad translation and should be "planning function"). Implement support packages.

Marc,

My planning profile looks good, but the planning function or the planning sequence is not there in the system I transported to. I've recreated using Global Planning Sequences instead of Local (I guess that is what they are) and it works the same the transports with no problem.

If that is the way to do it, I am just curious why there is a local planning sequence.

As always, thanks for your help. Keith Johnson

Keith,

of course local sequences are supposed to work as well and you should be able to transport them like any other things.

If you can not figure out why it does not work, open a message to SAP support and let them have a look.
