Sending Future Email from Action Profile

Hello Experts,

I would like to know how we can send a scheduled mail from SAP particularly using the Action Profile. Is the Action Profile can be used to send email in the future ? The use case is the employee will get email notification from SAP when his sales contract is expired, this can be 2 or 3 years later since the creation of the sales document.

My first thought is using SBWP because there is option "Do not send before" in its general setting. But i do not know yet how to trigger the SBWP from Sales Transaction (CRMD_ORDER). Or maybe there is possibility to use SBWP which defined in one of definition in Action Profile ?

It's general task for actions.

Examples of actions in SAP Customer Relationship Management:
....
Quotation for a new contract
Four weeks before a contract expires, or, when 80% of the value of a value contract has been reached, the customer automatically receives a quotation for a new contract with the same conditions as for the current product.
......

I'd suggest you to read about Actions at [help.sap.com|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm70/helpdata/en/65/bacdcb2e164428adde4137a39685cf/frameset.htm]. Or more specific about [Actions in Contracts|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm70/helpdata/en/dc/c74de5afb54ba69b419376436cf3a2/frameset.htm].

In few words: you define a start condition for the action. This start condition check "current date >= notification date". "Notification date" should be determined via date profile.

Late reply from me. Thank you for your suggestion, it's very helpful. I have been solved the problem using Start Condition in Action Profile. I define a Date Type first and then maintain the Start Condition "Local Date >= Date Type (End Contract). The action will be executed and the Email will sent when the Start condition is fulfilled. I use report RSPPFPROCESS to execute the email, and as this is should be done automatically I use Background Job.

Hello Experts,

Kindly advise I need to update the status of quotation to "quote expired" when the current date has passed the quotation end date. Does this need an enhancement or can be achieved by Action profile by adding a extra action definition in the existing action profile. If so kindly provide the config. steps of the action definition.

We already facing the slowness issue if we add this type of validation will it effect the performance of the system.

Prompt response will be highly appreciated and points will be rewarded.
