SAP ERP 6.0 - SPAM/SAINT Update from 7.00/37 to 7.00/45

Hello to All,

we want to upgrade our ERP 6.0 to the EHP 3 . At first I updated the SPAM/SAINT.

When I have a look to TA SM37, I see that the Job RDDMASGL is running for a very long time.

Joblog:

24.01.2012 11:25:21 Job wurde gestartet

24.01.2012 11:25:21 Step 001 gestartet (Programm RDDMASGL, Variante IMPACTMRG, Benutzername DDIC)

24.01.2012 11:25:23 Start of mass activation 11:25:23

Is this normal for this job?

Please help me.

Thanks and regards

Bianca

Hi,

It should be very fast normally. Please check tp.log, alog, slog. Also, sm50 to check is the process still running or hang?

Cheers,

Nicholas Chang

Hello,

thank you for the answers. The Update is finished after a long time. I think the perfomance of the sap system is very bad.

So I will check this.

Best regards

Hi Bianca,

Can you please check the status of the job to check if the job is really running or in hang status. And also please check the SM66 t-code to check the global workprocess overview to know if any sequential reads on tables are running. And also make sure that the database statistics are updated to avoid the performance issues.

Thank You.

Hi,

I had a similar issue.

I suggest you to do the following:

- Update your kernel, particularly R3trans and tp. Sometimes if you are using an old EHPI package it could lead to some problems. Download the latest binaries from OSS and substitute the old ones (in both the current kernel release and the EHP kernel) Do not forget to carry out a backup of both kernel directories before doing this, just in case.

- Check that RDDIMPDP is running correctly. In case of doubt, please reschedule it by running RDDNEWPP in client 000.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards

Francisco
