Oracle 11g licensing

Hello all,

We are upgrading from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0 with Oracle 11g. Right now we are running 10.2.0.4, and I just want to double check that we are licensed for 11g.

We are licensed for ECC 6.0 and when I received my physical software bundles it came with 11g. Does that mean we are licensed to use it since it is the currently supported version of Oracle for use with 6.0?

If not, where would I check this?

Thanks.

Hi Ben,

Since you are a SAP customer licensed to use SAP products on Oracle database, you are free to use new versions of Oracle database release supported by SAP. Such upgrades are free of cost to all SAP customers.

For oracle 11g latest supported version is 11.2.0.3.

Hi,

We are in the starting phase of CRM 7.0 installation. We have received medias of CRM 7.0 with oracle db 10.2. My doubt is that, as the oracle db is shipped with sap medias, we are only licensed to 10g ? or is it possible to install 11g.?

Kindly suggest.

Thanks

Hello Sunheer,

It is my understanding that based on the licensing, if you are licensed for the product (CRM 7.0) on Oracle, you are entitled to use the newest supported version, which is 11.2.03

Hi,

I would say YES as it is bundled in with you SAP licenses.

If you are unsure you should contact you SAP account Manager..
