IP Report not input enabled

Hi Experts,

I have done the below activities to make an IP report for manual planning.

1)Creation of real time cube and made is available for planning by setting.

2)Created aggregation level on around 7Characteristics & 4Key figures.

3)Created a Bex query with all the 11 infoobjects as present in the aggregation level.

4)Made the query to open in change mode.

5)All 4 key figures are ready for input.

6)Created a WAD template with analysis grid and its source is BEx query.

7)Infocube in planning mode.

The planning sequence & planning functions are running as desired when executed.

However, even after all the above required setting when I run the WAD the key figures aren't coming as editable.

I every now and then get these 2 below errors in WAD.

'014 Transformer exception while transforming BEx Web templates'

'171 Unable to generate history entry'

However, when I ignore the messages I can still work properly on WAD and have completed the IP report

Also I checked for disaggregation option of key figures setting in Bex query under planning tab.

There I am getting below error.

'Not supported by server'

I learnt that this disaggregation property needs to be enabled only if manual planning is based on totals(e.g. result role) and not on individual rows of characteristics.

I have just 4 records in the cube which are unique so every line in the report is unique.

Even though all the criteria's are met I am still not able to get IP report with manual editing option.

Please provide your valuable inputs.

Hi Neeraj,

without disaggregation setting a cell in the query can only be input-ready if the values of all characteristics used in the aggregation level are uniquely determined. In other works, the cell must not be aggregated with respect to the aggregation level.

In you case this means that the 7 characteristics have to be

- drilled-down in rows or columns

- or restricted to a single value in the fix or dynamic filter of the query

- or restricted to a single value in a restricted key figure.

Disaggregation is available since BW release 7.00, SP13 and Query Designer 7.0, FEP14. Maybe you are confusing the 'not implemented on server' message in the Query Designer for the disaggregation setting with another setting 'planning on hierarchy notes'. The latter setting has nothing to with the disaggregation setting.

Hi Gregor,

Thank you for your inputs.

I have done all the necessary steps mentioned by. While creating the aggregation layer I have units coming in by default even though I havent chosen them. However, I have pulled those UOMs & Units in the query and have hidden them. Still the query isn't input enabled.

Is it necessary to define characteristics relationship & filter in the aggregation level?

I havent defined characeteristic relationship simply because the Characteristics n Key figures (11 in number) I have chosen in the aggregation level from the entire cube (around 105 I Objects) is not refelected in Characteristics Relationship drop down.

Please assisst.

Hi Neeraj,

you don't need characteristic relationships.

Key figures usually have a currency or unit characteristic. Using such a key figure in an aggregation level requires the corresponding currency or unit characteristic to be included in the aggregation level since the key figure alone makes no sense.

Create the following query as a simple test:

- put all key figures of the aggregation level in the data columns of the query

- drill down all characteristics in the rows of the query

Are now some cells input-ready?

If yes, then some of the requirements I mentioned above were not met by your old query.

Gregor

Hi Gregor,

Thank you for your inputs. I re-created the aggregation layer and it worked.

However, I am facing a new issue.

My IP report requirement has Key figures to be shown in rows and just calendar month in columns.

The IP report should have drop down options for customer, product & year.

Now the issue is unless I pull the 3 filter characteristics in my rows or columns I am not able to make the IP report input enabled.

If I pull them in columns and hide the final IP report runs into 100 of pages and IP report takes a long time to execute.

If I pull them in rows and hide the structure doesnt support that and no data is seen.

If I put them in filters then they arent available for dropdown in IP report.

How to overcome this issue. Can I restrict the no of pages displayed on IP report?
