Conversion of systems

Hi Experts,

We have created business components as our sender and receiver. Now to transport these components to the other systems( quality,production...) which have names like DMD_DEV and WMB_DEV. while moving to other systems , we want the names of business components to be DMD_QUA and WMB_QUA. With business components in place , i hope these business components cannot be transported to other systems using any of the transport system. But with business systems , i hope we can do the transportation of configuration objects.

so would we be able to convert the business components to business systems with the underlying objects of business components be copied to the business systems that we intend to create in SLD. ?

Hi Amarnathkashinath,

delete first the Channels of the Business Services (make Screen Shots or copy them to other named Services). Then delete the Business Services DMD_DEV and WMB_DEV. You will get warning that the objects are used in other objects (of course, in Receiver Determinations and so on). Ignore that warnings.

The create in SLD Business Systems using the SAME names and import them to IB Directory. Then setup the channels (from the screenshots or copy from the other Services).

Then setup DMD_QAS, DMD_PRD and so on in SLD and define transport targets.

Hi,

If you have created DMD_DEV and WMB_DEV in SLD as a thgird party bussines system then you can define transport target for the same. but it is not posible to create transport target for Bussiness compoenent.hence you have create objects manually in Quality environment.

Better pratice is never add environment name for bussiness compoenet.

I am not sure about it. but you can try once by creating one dummy interface with different bussiness component then create the BS with same name then delete BC and execute scenario . i never done this, give one try,. this is the last option you have to avoid configuring objects manually.
