HI,

Yes,just make sure PreCalc is hosted on one of these platforms:

Windows server 2003 32 bit / 64 bit (Not R2)

Windows server 2008 32 bit / 64 bit (Not R2)

Windows Xp.

Note 1461398 - BW 7.X(7.20) Precalculation - General Info. & Limitations

We noticed this note but it is for 7.20. We cannot find any note for 7.3.

We are using NW7.3 BW.

Please help. Thanks!

Hi,

I believe you can go ahead with the same platform's suggested by SAP, even on BW 7.3.

Platform constraint here is only depended on frontend components and their patch level. As per my OSS message with SAP, they have not tested PreCalc on Windows server 2003 R2 64 bit platform , but rest which are mentioned in the note should work on all SAP BW 7.x env.

Do you know if this has changed yet?  I am trying to get the 7.3 PreCalculation working on a Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit platform, and the connection in SM59 tests out correctly, but precalculation just hangs.  I don't think the precalculation ever actually starts, as nothing is showing up in RSRD_LOG.  However, RSPRECALCADMIN shows the server as "At Capacity", and the broadcast shows as running in the queue until I delete it and restart the precalculation service.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Owen
