MD01 prameters

Hi,

My client's process is MTO. Only for last level raw materials it is MTS. So I have used strategy 20 for finished and semi finished.

Client says after sales orders are created in system and MRP run is done, still quantity of sales orders may be changed ( increased or decreased) if their customers say so.I have suggested client to run MRP in background in MD01. But I just want to know what should be setting for Processing key and Planning mode in such case of sales order's qty change?

Regards.

      Hi DB,

Thanks a tonne! You have always helped us a lot. There was some problem in my internet connection hence there was a delay in response!

Just one more clarifications before I close this thread:

Pls explain what do you mean by 'If you find yourself doing this a lot, you can re-position the 'req closed' button so as to be immediately visible during conversion, using standard table display variants within ME22N.' What is standard display variants??

I am really surprised that in case of sales order qty reduction, then user has to manully change qty of production order or firmed planned orders at all semi finished levels!! Imagine if there are many levels of BoM and so many Stock transport PR/PO's involved, then it is a tedious and herculean task!!

      Regards.

You can use the following settings,

    Processing key NETCH
    Create purchase req. 1
    Schedule lines 3
    Create MRP list 1
    Planning mode 1
    Scheduling 1

Additional information: You'd have to separate out some materials which are more frequently ordered during the day like consumption based planning materials by using user exit and run MRP more frequently like every 15 mins or an hour (in a separate job), in that case just set "create MRP list" = 3 so that it won't hog sap system.

    Hi,

As other users said maintain the following parameters....

    Processing key - NETCH

Create purchase req - 3 (planned orders)

    Schedule lines - 3

    Create MRP list - 1

    Planning mode - 1

Scheduling - 2 , this will calculate the schedule dates in the planned order based on routing times.

    Thanks,

    Ravi

    Hi,

    Use like this.

    Processing key: NETCH

    Create purchase req: 3(Planned order)

    Schedule lines: 3

    Create MRP list: 1

    Planning mode:1

What I understant your customer requirement is finished product level MTO and below thst MTS. You can use startegy 50. Here final assembly will only triggered after the sales order has received. Below the finished product you can produce the material for stock. This will reduce the dekivery lead time and quantity change in sales order will be considered also.
