    Hi

As we all know making the request before deleting is mandatory if it is delta request. Why.

When there is an successful delta extraction that timestamp will be updated in tables. Now if you have any failed delta reuqest, the timestamp will be updated to the latest one until you make the request red. When you make the failed request timestamp will steback. Now when you run delta again you will get the previous delta records also.

When it comes to full load, as we are loading all data this is not required.

That's why when you make the delta request red, you will get popup you want to perform reqpeat delta and we will select Yes.

    Venkatesh

    Hi ,

If there si a delta load from source to target system then as soon as the records are read from source and transferred to target to target the data mart status of that particular request(which contains the records) is set to the transferred and next delta is read after wards from that request. However if the request is not made red before delting it the system thins that the data has already reached the target and the next delta load will miss those records which actually have not reached the target.

Hence for delta loads its compulsory to make the request RED bfore deleting it. However in the Full Load case every timem the data load is done all the records are transferred from source to target. Hence even if the records are erroneous in the target they get overwritten by the new correct records. So its not mandatory in this case(but in some special scenarios we may require to mark it red before deleting it like if teh request being deleted is the old request of the cube).

    Hi

Why we need to make the status Red:

Lets assume you have data source which is delta and you are loading from R/3 to Infocube.

When you are running the delta info package it is working fine. Now consider a scenerio when you found some record which contain some invalid character so the delta in the info cube will fail.

Now when you make the request red then it will send a signal to R/3 that this particular request is not update into the data target. So the next time you can repeat the delta because next day we have two days of data today and previos day.

Similarly when you have DTP to load the data to cube, so when you make request red it will get the same request next

    time.

    Hope this is clear.

    Regards

    Rahul
