Install NWDS with local Portal test environment

I'm looking to install NetWeaver Dev Studio with a local portal test environment so that our developers can debug and test code locally prior to deployment to our development portal server. I understand that this option is available, but the only download I can find is the NWDS Sneak Peek edition, which includes MaxDB/WAS 6.4/etc. My concern is that this expires after 90 days, and I am looking for a permanant solution. Is this all that is currently available?

Also, does anyone have experience with this "all in one" local development option? I was curious if it works as intended for a nice debugging environment.

Thanks for your advice!

    Hi Todd,

You can download the software(NW04 + porta) from service.sap.com and have the developers install portal on their local PC. You don't have to worry about license expiration on this installed portal as long as there is only one user using the portal.

    Thanks Prakash,

Are you suggesting that I download NWDS and portal and maxdb and install and configure seperately, or is there a download and install that will install them all? I know that I read somewhere about an All in one install that I thought took care of all of these at once. I am hoping that there is an install program that installs these easily, as I don't want numerous developers to have to understand too much about the portal install process. I'd rather they concentrate on developing, rather than having to be the "SAP Basis" support for the portal installed on their PC.

    Thanks again,

    Todd

      Hi Todd,

SAP provides a zip install for its employee which can be deployed on your local machine(by just unzipping the files) but i am not sure this is available for outside customers. You can ask SAP about it but i think this might not be available to outsiders because of license agreement. I am afraid you will have to install on every machine. You have to install WAS and then portal on top of it.

Any news on this Todd? We would like to also develop locally before deploying to dev.
