In my project, there is only one payscale type, area and ESG for CAP. However, every employee is associated with a grade. But there are no pay scale levels. How do I set up the allowance grouping in this scenario?
There are some wage types, where the amounts are fixed for each grade. E.g. Transport Allowance = Rs.500 for employee grades A1, A2, A3. Transport Allowance = Rs.800 for employee grades B1, B2, B3, B4.
Pleas guide me.

We have several ESGs. Within each ESG, every employee is attached to an employee grade in the manual system. How do we assign this employee grade in SAP?.
Depending on the employee grade, the amount for certain wage types vary. For example, in the ESG "Workmen", there is only one grade "S1". But the amount for wage type "Transport Allowance" varies within this grade, depending on the employee's length of service as on a particular date.
As on 0-Apr-2011,
if length of service is less than 3 yrs then amount = 1000
if length of service is between 3 to 7 yrs then amount = 1100
if length of service is greater than 7 yrs then amount = 1200
However, for all other ESGs (other than "Workmen"), the amount is 800.
Like this, there are another 5-6 wage types, wherein the amount depends on the length of service for workmen, where as for the employees from other ESGs, the amount is fixed for the wage type.
How do you suggest me to arrive at the payscale group and level?
I am fairly clear regarding the pay scale type and area required for the customer. Even though there are multiple locations (cities) in which they operate, the pay scale structure does not depend on the location or on the industry sector. Hence, for all the employees only one pay scale type and one pay scale area will apply.
Please guide me.
