Hi,
Production Support project: This after implantation over, support team will be having KT and they have to monitor data loads and small developments. This may be 24/7 support in 3 shifts depends on the client requirement, turnover and geographical presence.
Development: Some clients will have separate development team to handle Data source enhancements, Reports creation / changes, new objects creation..This is also depends on big projects.
Implementation: This is first time implementation of project, where need to collect requirements, mapping with bi contents, gap analysis, user training, sign off..
Upgrade: This changing from one old version to new version example BW 3.x to BI 7.0. Here you need to have understanding of migration process.
Maintenance & support is similar to Production support
Hope it helps you.
Thanks
Riyez

Hi,
Implementation will do in development and then transport to quality, after user acceptance move it to Production server. Once implementation is over if any CRu2019s then it will be under Development / Support project depends on the client procedure.
you search there are lot of threads in sdn on this topic for more details.
Thanks
Riyez
