What Java version to install on Client Machine?

Hi

My clients have BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP2 for Windows installed and my client machine has IE8, XP SP3 and JVM 1.6.0_26.

Previously my client machine had 1.6.0_6 installed, and I was having several problems when creatign reports in the info view. IT then suggested to update my java to 1.6.0_26 (Version 6 update 26). I still face the same issue in the info view.

I have checked the SAP PAR documents and they have recommend 1.6.0_XX. But I know from past experience not all updates work well.

can I check with you all what version of java is best used with the set up noted above.

There are some known issue with the newer java versions. Java 1.6 update 3 works fine. Best way is to uninstall the java from client system and try to create a webi report. Then the user will be prompted to install jvm. install that version.
