default material to storage location

Hi SAP,

we have created two storage location for every plant, the storage location is 0200 & 0201.

i would like the system to default the material to the correct plant, example,

material A123456 is for storage location 0200

material B123456 is for storage location 0201

when the user create the PO for item B123456 system will always default to 0201. currently the user able to put storage location 0200 for this item.

how to restrict the material B123456 from be use for storage location 0200 ?

If materials are specific to storage locations, you should not extend them to other storage locations and hence even if someone by mistake enters wrong storage location system will not allow to post it.

based on info provided by you I understand that you were able to default storage location in PO based on material and only issue is you don't want user to overwrite that sloc. If this statement is right then best option is to make SLOC field as non editable for ME21N transaction via SPROmmpurchasingpurchase order-define screen layout at document level--there select basic, item data and make sloc field as DISPLAY.

    Hi, 2 options

1st In Material Master maintain the field "Storage loc. for EP" in MRP2 view for the particular material,

2nd For User ID wise you can maintain through personal setting in ME21N.
