Strong authentication for Visual Admin?

Hi,

Does anyone know if it's possible to have strong authentication (OTP token, smart card, etc.) for Visual Admin?

If so, what solutions are available?

I've researched this topic but couldn't find any information on available authentication methods for Visual Admin.

Thanks!

    Hi,

No, i dont think there is such option as RSA Token,Smart card available for connecting to Visual admin.

All you can do is to give Admin access to limited number of users.

    On Windows:

    Run \usr\sap\<SAPSID>\JC<xx>\j2ee\admin\go.bat

    Choose New.

    2. Enter a display name and choose Direct Connection to a dispatcher Node.

    3. Choose Next.

    4. Enter at least the following:

    u00A1 User Name: J2EE_ADMIN

    u00A1 Host: <host_name> of the J2EE engine

    u00A1 Port: <P4_Port>

The following convention applies for the port: 5<J2EEinstance_number>04. For example, if your J2EE instance number is 15, the P4port is 51504.

    5. Choose Save and connect with your new login account by choosing Connect.

    6. Enter the password for the J2EE_ADMIN user and choose Connect.

As an additional security feature, you can limit the access to the folder \usr\sap\...\ j2ee\ folder.

    Regards,

    Ashutosh
