data flow design

Hi,

I have 3 datasources to load into BI. Net Value is present in 2 data sources. My question is shall i use DSO for each datasource and load into cube or use single DSO for all the data sources.

What would happen to NetValue. I guess that it will be overwritten.

Thanks

krish

    Hi,

It dependents on your requirement and data flow design,

First of all check why you have net amount coming from two different data sources? If you have say set of different characteristic coming from two different data sources and using the same net amount then I would suggest you to create single DSO and load data into it.

You can do the mapping of required fields in transformation so that existing data for particular record will remain as it is while updating same record twice.

If you have different net amount coming up with different set of characteristic then you can surely go for individual DSO's and then combine data into infocube.

    Hi

It is better to use single DSO for each Data source and load the data to your CUBE. So that your DSO's will work as staging objects for your data in BI.

    Hi,

It is always advisable to have a staging dso for your datasources and then move data into cube for reporting.

So create 3 dso for 3 datasources and map all filed into dso for staging purpose. This is important for future point of view, that you have set of data available in BI for future reporting and fileds.

Now once data available in DSO then you can play with it by directly mapping into the cube and then create a multiprovider on top of that and reporting on Multi.

regarding 0net_value from 2 different DataSource , find out which give the best value and map that value into cube.

E.g. in purchasing 2LIS_02_ITM as well as 2LIS_02_ACC gives the net value, but 2LIS_02_ITM is the one you should use as it takes care of a single PO created, where as 2LIS_02_ACC only those POs, have account assignment values.

    Thank-You

    Hi,

If you have same net value is fetching from both datasources then why creating two different flow, you can create a single DSO and further cube on it.

    Thanks,
