Embedding an HTML landing page into your SAP GUI home screen

Has anyone successfully done this? It's not as stratight forward as described.

I am working with NW ECC 6.0 Ehp4, 701 Kernel patch Number 161, SAP-BASIS Component: SAPKB70106, SAP GUI 7.20 patch 10.

Used t-code sm30. Modified table SSM_CUST and added SESS_URL pointing to an internal Wintel Server. It's supposed to be that simple but apparently I am not seeing a critical step.

    Kernel release 701

    Sup.Pkg lvl. 39

    SAPGUI 7.20 patch 10

    I created a request (own request as $TMP) and it generated a transport name

    I wish I could give you points for this fantastic entry.

    We see benefits of this in our Solution Manager, where we now easy can create a web page presenting the FAQ, common Documents and instructions to the end user. Now we dont have to use the URL-links in the menu.
