HI sapfarooq;

For impliment Dataguard, Primary and secondry server should be same. Install secondry server sap instance same as primary. After comple the secondry server setup. Copy the primary server datafiles, archive files and all the configtartion related fies to secondary server.

Primary and secondary database shoould be same and create the oracle instance.

We have done the same setup is our client successfully . Now the DR setup is working fine.

It can be done in number of ways, but recommended procedure is to install a new SAP system, restore the database from primary, mount the database in standby mode and start sync using dataguard setup

2) Is there and step by step guide specific to SAP for Dataguard?

Just Google, it gives you guides with step by step procedure

3) Is it true that when dataguard broker is used, I dont need to implement any parameters in spfile, tnsnames

and listner files?

Defining parameters and services are mandatory for dataguard setup

4) When a disaster hppenes and I move to the standby node, what steps are needed to come back to primary node ?

You have to re-configure the setup starting from backup restore (from primary to standby).

Normal scenario yes. Means your primary is DBCI then secondary also DBCI.

During first time data guard guard broker service configuration you have to. post switch over data guard broker will take care.

primary node need to treat as secondary and then perform switch over.
