Auto Indexing

Hello All,

In our existing process we manually index the files daily. so that the new index gets reflected on regularly.

We have two questions here

1: Do we have an alternative (apart from WDJ application ) if we can auto index the index file at a stipulated time, Probably during the time , Instead of manually indexing as part of maintainance activity?.

2: Do we have a alternative approcah apart from the WDJ application to be created ? If so, I have to create a WD application for so that I can make us use of KM api's for the same . If so could anyone please let me know the steps to create a autoindexig using KM api's

Thanks in ad

    Hi Ronniee,

You provide insufficient information for me to be 100% certain what I am about to say will be helpful to you. If you are indexing knowledge management files you can configure the portal to do event driven updates. This will automatically send the event TREX and trigger an incremental update. The default setting is every 30 minutes or 10.000 events.

If you are index a different type of file please provide more details.

    Best regards,

The problem I am currently is this . I am currently using UME index for maintianing and updating the users in the system , Whenever I create a new user and then try to perform "Increment Index" the I can see the new user getting added but whenever I change already existing user details of the user and perform "Increment Index" I cannot see the information getting reflected.

Any resolution for this scenario ?

As well as we all know that we can define a schedule (Daily, Weekly, Monthly )for a particular index , The kind of index operation the crawler performs is a of type "Incremental Index" . Is it possible for me to define a schedule for "Re-index" rather that incremental indexing ?
