Hi,

The link between master inspection characteristics and class characteristics enables the automatic transfer of inspection results to the batch classification. for this please follow the following steps

Create few class Characteristic (CT04)

Create one Batch Class (CL01)

Assign the above created classed characteristic to the Batch Class at the time of class creation. (CL01)

Assign the batch class to material master in classification view. (MM01)

Create MIC with reference to above created Class characteristic (QS21)

Create inspection plan with above MIC (QP01)

Create the inspection lot

Result recording and usage decision (QA32)

You can see in MSC2N that batch characteristic will get updated.

Thanks

Smruti

Once u create class chara (CL02) and if if you want to assign that class char to MIC then you can use that field at QS21. At the time of MIC creation at QS21 you can enter previously created class char in given field.

This way u can attach class char with MIC. hope this make u clear.

Hi All

Thanks for quick response

So what I understand is that this Class characteristic is used when our material is activated for batch management

this is only one purpose for this Class characteristic or any other purpose more

Pls clarify

You can also use classification to group your characteristics and assign additional attributes to them. Standard class type for characteristics should be 005.

Hi

Major reason is yes. This is to transfer the char values to flow into Batch Characteristics.

Thanks

Even material is not batch managed then you can use material class in classification view to record material specification..
