MSS Add-on 1.0 - SAP NetWeaver 7.02 is a prerequisite

Hi all,

If you take a look at the documentation here:

You will notice that:

To use the full range of functions of the Business Package for MSS Add-On 1.0, you must have installed the following:

■SAP NetWeaver 7.02 with:

■SAP NetWeaver Portal

■Application Server ABAP

Does anybody know what functionality that will not be supported if you only have a SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.01 installed like we have?

Hi Martin,

Installing MSS Addon 1.0 on top of a SAP NetWeaver portal 7.01 will lead to an inconsistent landscape configuration. Its recommended to follow the prerequisite system configuration. If you are not in a position to upgrade to 7.02, you can check out the support pack of netweaver portal 7.01 which is equivalent to 7.02 and get it installed.

What is your backend version? 7.02/7.01?

From BP on portal perspective, technically you can fix certain things though you install it on 7.01. Because after all BP is nothing but iviews and pages. But it is highly not-recommended.

If your backend too is 7.01, may be you should forget about mss add-on till you upgrade to 7.02. There are many enhancements to WD ABAP which are used by applications from MSS add-on.
