SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP 7.02 SP6 32-bit installation failure

Folks,

I am running XP Pro SP3.

I installed MS Loopback adapter and configured as

IP 10.10.0.10

subnet 255.255.255.0

added an entry in the Hosts file as

10.10.0.10 MyComputerName

but the installation fails on operating system version check and gives me error

"The following Windows operating system version is supported: Windows Server 2003 (i. e. Version 5.2) and Windows Server 2008 (i. e. Version 6.0). Current Windows version: Version 5.1, Service Pack 3.0, product type: Workstation. You can check the current version of your operating system by running winver using Start --> Run .... See also http://service.sap.com/platforms --> Product Availability Matrix. (Updated 2008-01-29)"

When I check the supported version document it does mention XP Pro SP2. What am I missing here?

This is the last message in my log file

"Account user="sqdnsp" does not exist.

Failed action: with parameters

Error number 207 error type SPECIFIC_CODE"

does this mean anything to anyone?

ok, i ignored the OS version message but now it fails in execution during 'import ABAP' step with teh following message

An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including Enhancement Package 2 > SAP Application Server ABAP > MaxDB > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step :Program 'Migration Monitor' exits with error code 2. For details see log file(s) import_monitor.java.log, import_monitor.log.).

Anyone who can help?

I have almost the same problem.

windows XP proffesional

service pack 3

but it fails on 'start instance'

Please advice,

that is the error message i get

An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including Enhancement Package 2 > SAP Application Server ABAP > MaxDB > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step :ABAP processes of instance NSP/DVEBMGS00 [ABAP: UNKNOWN] did not start after 10:00 minutes. Giving up.). You can now:

Choose Retry to repeat the current step.

Choose View Log to get more information about the error.

Stop the option and continue with it later.

Log files are written to C:/Program Files/sapinst_instdir/NW702/AS-ABAP/ADA/CENTRAL.

Hi,

the hint the insatllation routine gives, refers to the systems that have been tested with SAP NetWeaver e.g. which are fully supported. I can't say for sure but I think SAP NetWeaver will also support SP3, however not officially. Normally the installation routine allows you to ignore the hint, at least this was possible in previous versions. Maybe you give it a try.
