How to handle alternative hierarchies in CRM?

Hello CRM Guru's!

If I have a customer that is in different countries, have the same family categories but different final products, I was wondering if we can use a Base Hierarchy PH1 (product hierarchy 1) and then if we can create altenatives hierarchies for each country that participate on the company.

How the alternative hierarchies work for SAP products?

If I can create these alternative hierarchies which is the route in GUI to create them?

Also where can I add this alternative hierarchy to the final product?

As you know, when we are creating a new product through WEB or GUI is the Base Hierarchy in my case PH1 (because is the only one hierarchy assign to category hierarchies to applications) that can be add to the product.

And how the base hierarchy in my case PH1 is linked to the alternative hierarchies?

I read that you can create as much as you want alternative hierarchies?

Any guidence you can provide me will be greatly appreciated!
