Value shown as asterisk in report

Hi

I have an issue with a report. Some of the values are shown as asterisk ('*').

It happens on some of the calculated key figures. One example is:

y = (abc)/d

Where a, b, c and d all should be time (hours).

Sometimes y is shown as "x ERR/H" (I guess this is because a, b and/or c are loaded incorrectly regarding their units. But sometimes it is also shown as '*'. When I highlight the field in Excel/BEx I am able to see the value in the "expression field" in the top. And it is the correct value if I compare it to a LISTCUBE.

Hope you can help

/Karsten

This is happening because of inconsistent units among the records. If any one record has a inconsistent unit, it will show up as *.

To solve this you could correct the data or else use the NODIM function.

So create the keyfigure as NODIM((abc)/d).

This will just calculate on the values without any interference of the units.

Hi Kumar

No, no currency but time. Could it be because it is different time formatets, e.g. hours and days?

the possibility is there, the general idea is if there is an "*" exist after theexecution of report, this simply means there 2 or more unit (which are same being used ).

Pls look into this fact

Hi Kumar

I checked it and it seems a bit odd.

Because the "normal" key figures (in this case a, b, c and d) also contains '*'. This does not agree with the inital theory does it?

Karsten,

Pls re-verify your key figures, values is it correctly being corresponded, sometimes tedious check will solve or reconstruct. I had the same scenaris almost 3 weeks ago.
