Dear all,
I am a logistics and have a basic knowledge about the modul PP. Would you please help to find a solution for my customer. My question is as follows:
Is it general possible a production order to create by scanning an article number?
The data input comes from a haldheld while the people scans a article number. At the same time a production order should be created and released.
thank you in advance.
What DB says is correct. I just ant to add an option of using KANBAN functionality with internal production replenishment strategy. Check the concept first; if it fits, then there's already a built in automation of creating a production order (automatic release uppon creation can be achieved via the "production scheduling profile"), by reading the KANBAN ID with a scanner.

Logifu,
A scan is just another way to input data.
To create Production orders, the minimum data requirements are:
Existing Order type
Existing Material number (Article number)
Existing Plant
Quantity
Date (either start or finish or both)
More data is required in some cases.
So, if your scan contains these data, then the answer is yes.
Obviously, you can create a custom program that will automatically populate any missing required data, provided you can come up with the proper logic.
Best Regards,
