Hi,

Few months back we had similar issue in our landscape and we raised message with SAP for this. After many rounds of discussion , we came to know that our platform version Windows server 2003 R2 64 bit edition is not supported for PreCalc.

They have asked us to move to either of these platform :

Windows server 2003 32 bit / 64 bit (Not R2)

Windows server 2008 32 bit / 64 bit (Not R2)

Windows Xp.

Please see if this is your issue too.

Thanks ashutosh,

If the platform is the issue then i'm running on same platform as yours ie Windows server 2003 R2(32 bit / 64 bit) .Will raise a separate message with SAP to get more info on this.

Thanks all for your replies.

Ritesh.

Hi,

Ensure you are using the latest version of Precal Server, and BI

Addons on your Precalculation Server Station

Try to open the workbook with Bex Analyzer on your precalc server.

If the issue does not occurs, the upgrade of the frontend will solve

the issue.

Try to execute the workbook individually there might be some

errors while precalculating the workbook.

Go to RSPRECADMIN T-code and check the Precal queue, delete your

workbook from that list of queue and re-broadcast and monitor in SOST

Activate the SAP BW Precalculation Multiinstance service. Register 3

instances per System (recommended). This will solve the issue.

Please execute these steps and let me knw results.

Hi,

Please refer to below troubleshooting guide

Hi,

Can you try to restart your precalc server and in table RSBATCHPARALLEL, and for PROCESS_TYPE "BROADCAST"

set the value 01 for the field PARALLEL_PROCS. Test it again. In case you are running more broadcast jobs, then try to increase this setting one value at a time until you get this working.

Add "BWPREC_USE_NEW_LOAD" with value "X" in table "RSADMIN", as you now

have the latest patches for precalculation server.
