Requirements to run CR 2008 v12.0 using .NET 3.5 on Windows 7 x64

31 Views

I have looked in many places for answers to my question but I have been led down the path of what looked like the correct solution however, the links were broken. I have been installing/uninstalling CR on and off for the last few days and I would really appreciate some help.

I just received a new workstation that is running windows 7 x64. I installed Visual Studio 2008, and I think I unticked CR as an option to install (if it was an option, I would have unticked it), as I never thought I'd be working on CR since we have a dedicated resource in a different location.

I need to work on a solution that uses CR v 12.0 (from what is stated in the web.config file), and unfortunately the solution did not come with any dependencies. This leads me as a developer unable to run the solution and make the changes to some security features of the solution.

I installed Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 SP1, Crystal Reports Basic Runtime for VIsual Studio 2008(x64). The application compiles, but fails at the following method call:

enterpriseService = enterpriseSession.GetService("InfoStore");

The exception contains the following message:

File or assembly name BusinessObjects.Enterprise.Sdk, or one of its dependencies, was not found

I found what appears to be the answer Link:[here|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_bi/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d36393736354636443646363436353344333933393338323636393736354637333631373036453646373436353733354636453735364436323635373233443330333033303331333233393339333633383330%7D.do] but the links at the bottom for sp_0 and sp_1 are broken.

Can anyone assist in getting this developer unblocked by the dependency problem and possibly share some knowledge on how I should package this solution for other developers to work on so that they do not run into this issue as well.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my post. I really appreciate it.

Cheers!

Tim
