Hi,

I'm taking 'SAP BusinessObjects Data Integrator XI R2' exam this month. Does anyone know of some good prep materials for this exam (beside SAP official courses)? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Danijel

Hi,

Here is some info which I obtained on giving BODI certification in India.

- BO certification will b offered by SAP and Not Pearson VUE

The certification fees is INR 38606/- inclusive of Taxes

To appear for certification without attending any BO course you need to fulfill the following criteria’s:

- To appear for Associate level certification without attending any BO course you need Minimum 1 year of BO Implementation Experience with minimum of 6 months experience in the module in which you wish to take up certification

- The last 1 year should be with your present employer

- Your present employer should be a CUSTOMER or PARTNER of BO

If you fulfill the above criteria’s please send your updated project profile for direct certification evaluation. On establishing your eligibility they will guide you through the process of registration. Check with your respective employer for details on this.

Certification fee for all Associate level certifications is INR 38605 inclusive of current taxes applicable (INR 35000 + 10.3% taxes). No discount is applicable on the certification fees.

SAP Certification exam questions come from the course material so the best way to study is directly from the course materials. Information about the areas that you need to study and sample test questions are available from the following web site.

http://www.sap.com/services/education/certification/certificationtest.epx?context=%5B%5Bc_bodi_20%7C...

The competency table tells you what topics to study and has links to the classes in which you learn them. The classes give you a table to contents that you can compare to any books you purchase so you can be sure that you are studying the correct concepts.

If you are in the United States you may be able to get a 50% discount on the cost of the certification exam. (http://scn.sap.com/thread/1697904). To my knowledge, while you may be able to book an exam online, you have to go to an proctored physical exam location. Exams are computer based and you get your results immediately, but they can not be taken remotely.

If you're in Asia Pacific, you'll need to take your training from one of the Authorized Training Partners in order to sit for the exam unless you have 2 full implementations and an authorized implementation partner to sponsor you. (Assuming the policy is the same for Business Object certifications as for SAP Certifications.)

SAP provides some excellent training on how to find the correct certification course and the classes associated with the certification at https://educops.sap.com/demohub/demo/taprep/launch.htm. At that link you'll find

Part 1 - Introduction, Which Exam is Right for You
Part 2 - Certification Finder
Part 3 - Exam Contents in Detail
Part 4 - Define Your Learning Gaps
Part 5 - Supplemental Materials
Part 6 - Study Tips
Part 7 - Frequently Asked Questions

Hope this helps!

Hi,

Looking for the same information here.

Learnt from the site that C_BOD_20 would be the certification for BODS, Need to confirm few things

- Exam cost is $500, do we get any discount codes?

- I can see available locations are in different countries other than India. I'm from India and my understanding is that we just book a slot at respective location and give the exam online?

- Cirrculum for the certification is available in the site? I can see a tab called 'Competency Areas'  which I didn't completely understand, It would be great if some one can detail us?

- If somebody has already given the exam, can they guide us how to get started with the certification?

Please let us know if anybody aware of the certification process and share your experiences if you have already done it.

In the past, SAP provided some discounts from time to time. There are currently no promotional discounts available that I know of. (Kenneth Schieffer from SAP Education had posted this recently in a different thread, but I can't remember which one.)

In India, and many other countries in the Asia Pacific, training is conducted through Authorized Training Centers. In order to sit for the exam in India, you have to have either taken the training from an ATC or have completed 2 complete end to end implementations and be sponsored by an authorized implementation partner.  If you can travel, you can sit for any exam by simply scheduling it with Pearson Vue in Australia, UK, or US (other countries as well). Pearson Vue has centers in India as well, but no one has posted whether or not they'll let anyone sit for an exam in India or if the restrictions still hold.

What confuses you about the competency areas? Those are the topics that you will be tested on. Theoretically if you found a combination of books/web sites etc and thoroughly understood those areas, you'd have a pretty good chance at passing the test even if you didn't take the official class.  If you check the corresponding classes, you'll see that those competency areas are pulled directly from the various class syllabus. (syllabi?)

There a few blogs posted in this section that give certification test taking/studying advise. The most common recommendation is to take the class and then go very carefully through the material at least 3 times before attempting to sit for the exam.

I have posted a blog series about learning SAP when you don't have a job that gives you daily access to SAP systems which you can find at http://scn.sap.com/people/thomas.dulaney/content.

Please let me know if you have more questions! Hope this helps!
