Supply Area Stock - Transfer Order Creation

Hi Guruu2019s

Iu2019m looking for some advice we have a Storage loc. for EP location 0002 and a Prod. stor. location 0003.

When we release our process orders SAP checks stock in Location 0003 and then generates a TO for the variance. Example:

Order Qty : 5000 EA

Location 0003 Stock: 4000 EA

TO Created for 1000 EA from 0002.

Pretty standard stuff.

Is there anyway to hold a u201Csaftey stocku201D (as such) in the supply area???

We have the issue where we over produce on the order therefore we only have 5000 EA in the production storage location and require an additional 1000 EA. The operators then spend an hour running around trying to get the extra stock into the production environment.

Ideally we want to allocate a fixed amount of stock that when the TO is generated it excludes from the calculation.

Therefore in the above example Location 0003 may have 4000 EA in stock but 2000 EA might be the u201Csaftey stocku201D therefore the TO would be generated for 3000 EA.

Note: Please excuse the term safety stock as I understand this not what Iu2019m actually looking for.

Thanks in advance.
